Glamor shots of John’s incredible Fender Thin Skin Jazzmaster in Burgundy Mist. I can’t tell you how much I’ve grown to love this color, especially when viewed in person. See, it’s not so much lavender as everyone thinks; there’s a touch more red in there, with hints of rust as well as light purple hues. It’s lovely.
This one is going to haunt me. See, it’s got this crazy wider neck than on any of the other Thin Skins I’ve played (including my Sonic Blue) which makes it feel a lot more like a real early ’60s guitar than a relatively new one. We’ve also dropped some Seymour Duncan Antiquity I pickups in this one, giving the guitar a more woody low end, some healthy but slightly hollow mids and tapered but still present highs. It sounds phenomenal, especially now that she’s Mastery-equipped.
As I told John, this one needs some good ’60s tort. Hell yes.
